Fitness Review For You

You may know it's essential to exercise and do strength training but it's easy to procrastinate from one day to the next.

To help you get started and stay on track, I've taken a coaching approach and prepared the following fitness questions for you to complete.

If you prefer, you can download the Fitness Review to your desktop and print a hard copy.

  1. (a) What is important to you about being fit and healthy? Take time to reflect on your answer. Distinguish something specific that has meaning to you and is motivating, e.g. adventure travel; maintain independence; be the best grandparent.

    (b) Put a picture or symbol that represents your answer to (a) in a prominent place where you will see it daily e.g.on the fridge, bathroom mirror, screen saver.

  2. What do you enjoy doing that will give you the benefit of aerobic exercise?

If you don't know, start walking. It's easy, you can walk anywhere, and no special equipment is required.

  3. To fit exercise into your daily schedule, what days and times are best for you?

  4. Saying "yes" to fitness and exercise may mean letting go of other activities or habits.

Ask yourself: If I am saying "yes" to fitness, what am I saying "no" to?
e.g. "yes to getting up early, "no" to staying up late; "yes" to fitness class, "no" to TV.

  5. Whose support do you need to keep you committed and on-track with your new fitness regime? e.g. spouse, friend, children, fitness buddy

  6. What is your first step to begin the fitness regime?

  7. When will you get started?

Mark the date boldly on your calendar.

As part of embracing a health lifestyle, be sure to complete the Health Review and Questionnaire.
