Vickie Townson, PCC
I began a new chapter in my own life when I neared age 50. I was an "empty-nester" and realized that my career was no longer satisfying. I was yearning for something more - a way of making a difference that would be personally rewarding as well. Part of me felt I was being unrealistic, but I knew that if I didn't at least explore new opportunities, I would always regret it.
That exploration led me to life coaching and, happily, a career that I love. Soul-satisfying for me and supporting others on their own journey of discovery.
One of my clients expressed it best. Coaching is "the difference between a life of regrets and a life lived fully."
That's me during a trip to Edinburgh.
Vickie Townson's Coach Training On the professional side, I graduated from The Coaches Training Institute in California in 2001 and its certification course in 2003. I have earned the designation of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF) and I am on the Board of the Ottawa Chapter of the ICF.
Becoming a licensed Third Age Coach through The Center for Third Age Leadership was a natural choice for me. Having experienced my own Third Age journey of growth and renewal, I wanted to give others the opportunity to do the same. I now specialize in coaching boomers who are starting a new chapter in their life. I work with my clients individually, as a couple, and in small groups. I also regularly deliver seminars and workshops on retirement lifestyle planning, becoming an "empty-nester", and self-care.

I also have fun exploring my creative side - writing, cross-stitching and, recently, "playing with the paints". I am married to my best friend Bill, who became part of our family after my daughter, Jennifer, and I had been on our own for many years. My extended family now includes Bill's two daughters, their husbands, six grandchildren and Jennifer's husband, Will.Life is filled-full!
